MBABANE – The Royal Eswatini Sugar Corporation (RES Corporation) has stepped in to supporting rural livelihoods by donating market shelters worth E75 000 each to the Manzana and Mhononweni communities under kaDvokolwako Inkhundla. This initiative aims to provide local vendors with safe and dignified spaces to trade.
The total Investment of E150 000 forms part of the company’s Corporate Social Investment (CSI) programme, which focuses on uplifting neighbouring communities through sustainable development initiatives.

The shelters are already making a visible difference, particularly for elderly women who have long relied on selling fresh produce and household goods to support their families.
An elderly vendor from Manzana, who preferred to remain anonymous, expressed her gratitude for the new structure.

“This shelter protects us from the rain, the cold winds in winter, and the harsh sun. We have been trading under trees and makeshift covers for years. This means we can now work in peace and safer environment ,” she said.
This is not the first time RES Corporation has extended a helping hand to surrounding communities. In April, the company donated 20 waste bins worth E70 000 10 to Vuvulane and another 10 to Siteki, as part of its ongoing efforts to promote cleanliness and environmental responsibility in its neighbouring areas.
