NGWEMPHISI – Farmers in Ngwemphisi and Mahlangatsha have commended World Vision Eswatini for its lasting contribution to agricultural development and community empowerment, as the organisation joined other stakeholders at an Agriculture Show held in Ngwemphisi.
Organised in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture, the event brought together local farmers, agricultural experts, and development partners to exchange ideas and explore solutions to the challenges facing the farming sector.
World Vision, through its Mahlangatsha Area Programme, played a key role in supporting the event, offering farmers information on climate-smart agriculture, training opportunities, and access to markets.

Speaking during the show, World Vision’s Livelihoods Coordinator, Bonginkhosi Mabuza, said the organisation’s interventions aim to strengthen families so they can better care for their children.
“Our work in agriculture is not just about food production. It’s about helping families have enough enough food, income, and knowledge to raise healthy, happy children,” he said.
Mabuza also spoke about the role of World Vision’s WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) programme in supporting farming communities by improving access to clean water, which is essential for both household use and agriculture.
These initiatives are part of World Vision’s national ENOUGH Campaign, which aims to eliminate child hunger and malnutrition in Eswatini by 2027.
Local farmer Mabuza shared heartfelt gratitude for the difference World Vision made when it operated in the area, especially through the provision of clean water.

“World Vision brought us hope. They gave us water when we needed it most. We still feel the impact today and wish they could return to continue their good work,” he said.
The show was a testament to the power of collaboration in tackling rural poverty and ensuring sustainable agricultural development.
