Swazi artist Mfanfikile Sandile Ntshangase, known by his stage name Genes Of The Vibe, has just unveiled his latest single titled, “Grateful,” featuring Nigerian vocalist Recipy. Released on July 25, 2025, this track is a vibrant exploration of life’s ups and downs, emphasizing the importance of gratitude amidst the challenges we face.
Living in Mbabane, Genes Of The Vibe has carved a niche for himself in the Private School Amapiano genre. With “Grateful,” he delivers a powerful message: life can be both good and bad, but the key is to appreciate every moment. “Be grateful for life, be grateful that you woke up, and mostly, be grateful you still have chances in life,” he reflects.
In an exciting twist, Genes Of The Vibe collaborated with the talented Nigerian vocalist Recipy, whom he describes as the best fit for his vision of Amapiano. This international partnership was made possible through technology, as the two worked together via email to create a unique blend of sounds. “The song mixes Amapiano with elements from other genres, primarily Afro vibes,” he explains. “I had to keep up with the sound he’s familiar with.”
Their collaboration came about through a South African group Genes was working with online. After sending them a beat, they connected him with Recipy. Initially, he had doubts about merging Amapiano with Recipy’s style, but the results exceeded his expectations. “He took a week to record this song, and I was amazed by what he delivered,” Genes shares. “I’ve been holding onto this song for a long time, and I’m thrilled to finally release it.”
Working with international artists has been a transformative experience for Genes Of The Vibe, as he learns to incorporate different sounds into his music. He emphasizes the value of collaboration across genres, stating, “Recipy has taught me that it’s good to give another artist from a different genre a chance to dive into Amapiano.”
