MBABANE – Eswatini’s Nsingizini Hotspurs are set to take on South African giants Kaizer Chiefs in the 2025 Prince Mangosuthu Legacy Cup, scheduled for 11 October 2025 at the Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi Stadium in Ulundi.
Held annually in honor of the late Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi, the tournament provides a unique platform for regional and South African clubs to showcase their talent ahead of the new season. The 2025 edition will feature four teams, with AmaZulu set to face ABC Motsepe League side Njampela FC in the other semi-final. The winners of the semi-finals will meet in the final, promising an exciting conclusion to the competition.
For Nsingizini Hotspurs, this marks a golden opportunity to test themselves against one of South Africa’s most decorated clubs. The clash with Kaizer Chiefs is expected to draw significant attention from fans and media alike, highlighting the growing presence of Eswatini football on the regional stage.
“It is an honor for us to play in this tournament for the second time in a row. Facing Kaizer Chiefs is a great experience because of the exposure their brand brings. It will also help showcase our brand to a wider audience,” said club CEO Banele Ngobe.
The Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi Stadium, which has traditionally hosted the tournament, will once again provide the perfect backdrop for thrilling football action. Last year, the stadium welcomed teams including Royal AM, Richards Bay FC, Nsingizini Hotspurs, and Njampela FC, with Njampela FC clinching the title after a dramatic penalty shootout.
With Nsingizini Hotspurs representing Eswatini, supporters are eagerly anticipating their team’s challenge against some of the best clubs in the region, aiming to make a mark in this prestigious tournament while honoring the legacy of Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi.
