EZULWINI– The Minister of Tinkhundla and Administration, Sikhumbuzo Dlamini, has hailed the Eswatini Football Association (EFA) and the Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) for their stewardship in safeguarding the country’s longest-running football sponsorship.
Standing in for the Minister of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs, Bongani Nzima, Dlamini commended the football leadership for ensuring that the MTN sponsorship has remained intact for nearly a quarter of a century.
“Let me take this opportunity to congratulate MTN for this long partnership that have lasted for 24 years. I appreciate the Eswatini Football Association and it’s executives for doing their best in making sure that they maintain the sponsorship over all these years.” Said Dlamini.
He was speaking during the official launch and renewal ceremony of the MTN Premier League sponsorship for the 2025/26 season, held at the MTN Golf Park in Ezulwini.
The MTN Premier League, which continues to be the flagship football competition in the country, has benefited greatly from MTN Eswatini’s long-standing support, with millions invested annually to develop football talent and ensure the league’s smooth running.
Dlamini emphasized that such corporate partnerships were crucial in strengthening sports development in Eswatini, urging other companies to emulate MTN’s dedication to uplifting football.
The 2025/26 MTN Premier League season officially kicks off this month, with renewed energy and anticipation as clubs battle for glory under the backing of the E22.5 million sponsorship deal.
