NHLANGANO– A new locally developed AI app helps women choose stylish outfits with ease.

Meet Siboniso Mzwandile Ngwenya, a young software developer from Nhlangano, who is redefining how women approach fashion through technology. Currently pursuing an Advanced Diploma in Software Engineering at the Royal Science and Technology Park in Matsapha, Ngwenya is the creative mind behind SboOutFitMatch, an AI-powered fashion app designed to help women pick the perfect outfit for work, church, or any special occasion.

Ngwenya said the idea came from observing how closely fashion and technology connect. “I realised that people who love fashion are also into technology, so it was easy for me to bring the two together,” he explained. “The main problem with fashion is that it’s often hard to decide what to wear, especially when most clothes look equally beautiful.”

SboOutFitMatch solves this by allowing users to upload images of their clothes to create a virtual wardrobe. From there, the AI studies each item, learns the user’s preferences, and suggests stylish combinations suitable for different events. “It learns from the selections you make during upload,” Ngwenya said, noting that the app improves as users interact with it more.

The app mainly targets working women, teachers, and university students, who often face the daily challenge of selecting what to wear. “These are people who must decide every morning, and that wastes a lot of time,” he added.

However, building such an innovative app locally hasn’t been without challenges. “It’s very hard to find free tools to build this, and I had to pay for some features,” Ngwenya admitted.

Despite the hurdles, Ngwenya remains committed to perfecting SboOutFitMatch. He is currently inviting women to be among the first testers of the app before its official launch.

Those interested in early access can sign up via https://sbooutfitmatch.pages.dev/. “Thank you so much for supporting local innovation,” Ngwenya said with gratitude.
