MBABANE- The Royal Eswatini Police Service (REPS) has launched a manhunt following a serious incident reported in the Motshane area, with investigations currently underway.

Mbabane Police are searching for Thulani Ginindza (40) of Motshane, originally from Magubheleni, who is a person of interest in the killing of his 30-year-old wife. The incident reportedly occurred at the family home at about 7:00am on Thursday.

Preliminary information indicates that the suspect had returned to his workplace at Mbeka in Mankayane on December 31, 2025, but is believed to have later returned home the same day without being noticed. On New Year’s Day, the couple’s children reportedly found their father at home and asked about their mother’s whereabouts, as she had not returned since Wednesday afternoon.

In the early hours of Thursday, the suspect allegedly took the children to a nearby forest to collect firewood. On their return, the deceased was still not at home. She reportedly arrived shortly thereafter and entered the family house, followed by her husband.

Police reports indicate that a heated argument followed inside the house. The children allegedly heard cries for help, prompting one of them to run to a nearby spaza shop to alert community members. The community responded promptly; however, the suspect had already fled the scene.

The woman sustained multiple stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. Police officers arrived shortly afterwards and immediately launched investigations.

The REPS has appealed to members of the public who may have information that could assist in the arrest of the suspect to contact the police using the numbers provided in the official infographic. Authorities stressed that public cooperation remains critical in ensuring suspects are brought to justice.

Police further used the incident to renew calls for communities to report domestic disputes early, emphasising that domestic violence is a serious criminal offence with devastating consequences for families and communities.

Investigations are ongoing.
