MBABANE – As Form 5 examination results were officially released on Friday, February 6, 2026, opening doors for thousands of learners to take the next step in their academic journeys, the Eswatini Higher Education Council (ESHEC) has reaffirmed the importance of quality-assured institutions in the country’s higher education landscape.

In this context, ESHEC Acting Chief Executive Officer, Mpendulo Nyamane, on February 9,2026 presided over a Certificate Handover Ceremony, where two institutions were recognised for meeting regulatory and quality assurance standards in higher education.

During the ceremony, the Eswatini Emergency Rescue College (EMRC) received approval for the addition of four programmes to its existing accredited offerings. Meanwhile, Ubombo Technical College (U-Tech) was awarded its Full Registration Certificate, alongside accreditation for three programmes.

Nyamane said the achievements demonstrate that compliance with established standards and processes makes full institutional registration attainable, while also strengthening confidence in Eswatini’s higher education system.

“These milestones show that institutions which commit to quality assurance and regulatory requirements can successfully expand access to credible and relevant education,” he said.

ESHEC congratulated both EMRC and U-Tech, noting that their progress comes at a critical time when Form 5 graduates are exploring higher education and skills development opportunities across the country.

The council reiterated that students are encouraged to enrol only in fully registered and accredited institutions, including Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) colleges and tertiary institutions recognised by ESHEC.
