MBABANE- Londiwe Qwabe has been introduced as the new Communications Officer of the Eswatini Water Supply and Sanitation Access Project (EWSSAP).
The Eswatini Water Supply and Sanitation Access Project (EWSSAP) is a national initiative improving access to safe and reliable water and sanitation across Eswatini. It strengthens infrastructure and service delivery, especially in underserved communities, and is implemented through the Eswatini Water Services Corporation with government and development partners, emphasising transparency, community engagement, and sustainability.
Londiwe Qwabe was introduced on February 17, 2026, during a media engagement held at the UN Building by Nomahlubi Matiwane, the Business Enablement and Corporate Affairs Director at the Eswatini Water Services Corporation, who was representing Managing Director Jabulani Mashwama, who was out of the country at the time.
She is an experienced Public Relations and Communications professional with a strong background in advocacy, stakeholder engagement and media relations. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and Mass Communication and brings valuable experience from her previous roles at the Eswatini Competition Commission and the Lusweti Institution for Development.
Throughout her career, she has served in various capacities including Manager: Advocacy and Communication, Research Consultant, Field Officer and Training Assistant. Her expertise in strategic communication and stakeholder coordination is expected to play an important role in strengthening transparency, public awareness and stakeholder engagement around the national project.
Project officials encouraged members of the media to engage with Qwabe as the primary contact for all project-related communication and updates, noting that her appointment comes at a critical stage of the project’s implementation.
The EWSSAP further applauded the media for its role in ensuring that the public remains informed about national development initiatives of this scale, emphasising that transparency and public awareness are essential components of sustainable service delivery.
Stakeholders expressed optimism that enhanced communication and continued collaboration will support ongoing efforts to secure reliable water supply and improved sanitation access for all emaSwati.
