LOBAMBA- Government has projected E29.64 billion in revenue and grants for the upcoming fiscal year, set against E35.6 billion in expenditure, reflecting a 6.4% budget deficit.
Presenting the national financial plan, the Minister of Finance Neal Rijkenberg emphasized that fiscal decisions are guided not only by economic priorities, but also by responsibility to future generations. He noted that public debt currently stands at 39.6% of GDP, a level Government considers manageable within the country’s fiscal framework.
He reminded Parliament that a national budget represents more than figures on paper, but a statement of values and direction. Careful balancing of revenue and spending, he said, ensures that development continues without placing undue pressure on future generations.
Government remains focused on strengthening domestic revenue mobilisation and maintaining fiscal discipline, while directing resources toward key sectors such as infrastructure, education and health.
For Emaswati, this approach translates into continued investment in roads, classrooms and essential services, building today’s progress while safeguarding tomorrow’s economic stability.
