GEGE – The Taiwan Embassy and Taiwan Medical Mission team have treated 431 Gege residents.
The treatment of Gege residents happened this past Saturday (July 6, 2024).
The team was led by Minister Ching-Lin Tsuei to the rural area in the Southern part of Eswatini, and 431 residents received medical assistance from Taiwanese doctors and nurses.
The Gege residents were assisted with consultations, ultrasound check-ups, dispensation of medication and public health education. The Taiwan team also donated rice, clothes, wheelchairs to Gege residents and walking sticks for the elders.
Gege Member of Parliament (MP) Magesi Dlamini acknowledged the medical team for finding it appropriate that they could take time to give help to the people, despite that the weather conditions were unfavourable, as it was cold. He also said that the residents were very grateful for Taiwan’s friendship and kind assistance.
The medical team mentioned that there was a challenge for certain far-reaching rural communities in the country to get adequate access to medical care. They also stated that they were determined to provide medical outreach continuously without fail.
