LOBAMBA– Church leaders from across the country have hailed His Majesty King Mswati III 40 years on the throne, describing his reign as one guided by faith, perseverance and God’s grace.
The message was also conveyed by Chief Archbishop Professor Samson Hlatjwako, in the presence of His Majesty King Mswati III, on behalf of pastors during the Good Friday Men’s Service.
In a celebratory tone, the pastors declared “Halala” to His Majesty for reaching the milestone of four decades on the throne.
Chief Archbishop Professor Samson Hlatjwako also conveyed heartfelt appreciation for the warm hospitality extended to them during their stay since Tuesday. He noted that from breakfast to supper, the clergy were well taken care of, reflecting the Kingdom’s spirit of unity and care.
The Archbishop also expressed gratitude for the marquee provided during Friday’s service at the National Church in Lobamba, highlighting that even if heavy rains had come, the structure would have ensured their safety. His remarks were met with loud chants of “Bayethe!” from fellow pastors, affirming unity and agreement.
They acknowledged that the journey had not been easy, but emphasised that the King’s walk with God has been the cornerstone of his endurance and leadership.
“We understand that the journey was not easy, but because His Majesty walks with God, he has managed,” said Archbishop Hlatjwako, adding that pastors pray for God to grant the King many more years, even wishing him another 40 years of continued leadership.
The clergy further reflected on the significance of national prayer gatherings such as Easter services, opening year prayers and year-end prayers, saying these platforms unite the nation in worship and remembrance.
Archbishop Hlatjwako also congratulated His Majesty and the nation following Eswatini’s recent recognition by the African Union for its commitment to peace, stability and good governance.
The Kingdom was honoured in March 2026 by the AU’s Political Affairs, Peace and Security Department with an award for effective governance under its peace division.
The recognition highlighted the Tinkhundla system as a resilient and responsive model that promotes stability and inclusive governance, while also acknowledging His Majesty’s leadership in advancing peace on the continent.
Meanwhile, Indlovukazi has called on pastors to intensify prayers ahead of the upcoming Ruby Jubilee celebrations marking His Majesty’s 40-year reign. Speaking at Ludzidzini Royal Residence on April 6, 2026, she urged spiritual leaders to return to their congregations and pray earnestly for the success of the historic event.
The Ruby Jubilee celebrations, set for April 25, 2026, at Somhlolo National Stadium, will coincide with His Majesty’s 58th birthday and are expected to showcase the nation’s culture, unity and pride.
