EZULWINI– Top performers in the MTN Premier League were recognised during the Player of the Month presentation held at the MTN Eswatini Head Office in Ezulwini on May 6, 2026 with standout midfielder Ncomo Gina emerging as the leading figure for March 2026.
The awards ceremony celebrated the league’s top five fan-voted players, highlighting consistent performances and strong supporter engagement as teams continue to compete both on the field and through public voting platforms.
Gina, who plays for Mbabane Swallows, secured first position after amassing 2 229 votes, earning him a cash prize of E 3 566.40 as the Star Player of the Month. In second place was Mphumuzo Sangweni of Green Mamba FC, who collected 1 696 votes to take home E2 713.60. Sibusiso Dlamini from Nsingizini Hotspurs followed in third place with 687 votes, receiving E 1 099.20.
Fourth position went to Siciniseko Nxumalo of Ubombo Sugar FC, who earned 655 votes and E 1 048 while Siyabonga Mkhonto from Mbabane Highlanders rounded off the top five with 645 votes, taking home E 1 032
The initiative saw a total payout of E11 684.80 distributed across participating players, reflecting the impact of fan engagement in rewarding performance across the league.Organisers noted that the fan-driven model continues to strengthen the connection between clubs and their supporters, with voting participation directly influencing both recognition and financial rewards for players.
Other players who featured in the broader rankings included representatives from Moneni Pirates, Young Buffaloes and Royal Leopard, further highlighting the competitive nature of the awards. Gina’s victory reflects both his on-field consistency and strong backing from supporters, underlining the growing influence of fans in shaping the league’s recognition platforms.
As the competition progresses, clubs are expected to intensify campaigns to rally supporters ahead of the next round of voting, with players aiming to maintain momentum in both performance and fan engagement.
