MBABANE- Rwandans are set for an unforgettable musical experience as Eswatini-born DJ and entertainer Gifted Kosie, whose real name is Phindile Dlamini, prepares to headline the highly anticipated Afro Piano Groove Edition 2 in Rwanda on 16 May at Azzurri Club in Muhima, Kigali.
The talented female DJ will make her first-ever visit to the East African country, where she is expected to deliver an energetic blend of music and dance performances alongside Nigerian DJs DJ Pyfo, Prince Okuta, DJ Bhura and DJ Energy.
Speaking ahead of her trip, Gifted Kosie expressed excitement and gratitude for the opportunity to represent Eswatini on an international stage.
“I feel so happy, ‘Ndishimye’ in Kinyarwanda, for such a great opportunity to not just visit but perform in Rwanda, making sure that I leave a mark,” she said.
The entertainer said she was eager to experience Rwanda beyond the performance stage, describing the country as warm, clean and welcoming.
“I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to experience a warm and clean country with dignified people,” she said.
Gifted Kosie further revealed that her visit would also allow her to explore Rwanda’s creative and entertainment industries while learning more about the country’s vibrant culture.
“I’m excited to experience their culture, their arts and how events are being held. I’m excited to be delivering an electrifying set of music and dance performances,” she added.
The Afro Piano Groove Edition 2 event is expected to attract music lovers from different parts of Rwanda, with organisers promising a high-energy nightlife experience from 5pm until late.
Beyond entertainment, the DJ said the trip symbolises something bigger for her career and community.
“I am honoured to carry our values to a global stage. This trip isn’t just about the destination; it’s about building bridges and relationships, showing what’s possible through resilience and representing my community with pride,” she said.
Gifted Kosie also highlighted that the visit would provide an opportunity to understand East Africa’s entertainment trends and create possible collaborations.
“The focus is typically on learning about Rwanda’s musical preferences, how they party and achieving new partnerships and a deeper understanding of East African innovation,” she said.
Her upcoming performance marks another milestone in her growing international journey as she continues to position herself among Africa’s rising female entertainers making waves beyond borders.
