MBABANE– Eswatini remains open for business as the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Trade continues to drive key reforms aimed at improving the ease of doing business and strengthening investment facilitation through the Business One Stop Shop (BOSS).
This was highlighted during a European Union (EU) tour of the BOSS and the Eswatini Investment Promotion Authority (EIPA) Head Offices, where the Director of Industries, Zamanyambose Mtetwa, speaking on behalf of the Honourable Minister Manqoba Khumalo, outlined Government’s commitment to creating a more efficient, coordinated and investor-friendly business environment.
Mtetwa said the BOSS is a major reform that brings together multiple government services under one platform, streamlining processes such as company registration, permit applications, visa facilitation, trading licences, tax registration and investor advisory services.
She noted that the initiative has already recorded increased engagement from both local and foreign investors since its operationalisation, reflecting growing confidence in Eswatini’s investment climate.
She also acknowledged the support of the European Union (EU) and the International Trade Centre (ITC), whose funding and technical assistance were instrumental in establishing and operationalising the BOSS.
While highlighting progress, Mtetwa pointed out challenges such as digitalisation, turnaround times, process integration and inter-agency coordination, but reaffirmed Government’s commitment to continuous improvement and reform.
She added that the BOSS is evolving into a strategic gateway for investment, trade facilitation and economic growth, emphasising that investors are increasingly focused on the efficiency of systems supporting business operations.
Eswatini remains open for business and is working towards becoming fully ready for business through sustainable investment and strong partnerships.
