MBABANE – Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs Prince Simelane says the Integrated Electronic Case Management System (IECMS) will transform the country’s justice system by improving the handling and tracking of court cases.
Speaking during the official opening of a stakeholder engagement workshop on May 20, 2026, Prince Simelane said the digital platform would make court processes more efficient and simplify the follow-up of cases within the justice system.
The Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs convened the engagement workshop to sensitise Portfolio Committees from both Houses of Parliament on the implementation of the IECMS.
Day One of the workshop focused on Change Management, with discussions centred on the importance of embracing digital transformation to improve efficiency, transparency, accountability and access to justice in Eswatini.
The Minister said the introduction of the electronic system marked a major step towards modernising justice delivery in the country. He noted that the IECMS would reduce delays associated with manual processes while improving coordination among institutions involved in the justice sector.
Senate President Lindiwe Dlamini welcomed the initiative and stressed the importance of safeguarding sensitive information within the digital system. She said there was a need to ensure that court files and critical information remain secure as the justice sector transitions to electronic systems.

The Senate President also commended the Ministry for updating legislators on the progress made in implementing the programme.
The workshop brought together key stakeholders from the justice sector to strengthen understanding and collaboration as the Ministry advances the rollout of the IECMS.
The IECMS project was officially launched by the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs on August 18, 2025, marking the beginning of intensive end-user capacity-building sessions across the justice sector.
The system is designed to replace physical paperwork by enabling electronic case filing, virtual court hearings and seamless tracking of legal proceedings through computers and mobile devices.
It also integrates key justice institutions, including the Judiciary, Ministry of Justice, Law Society of Eswatini, Royal Eswatini Police Service, Anti-Corruption Commission and Correctional Services into one connected digital platform.
The initiative received support from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), which donated information technology equipment to assist with the rollout of the system in August 2025.
As the country moves towards a more technology-driven justice system, government officials say the successful implementation of the IECMS is expected to strengthen public confidence in the courts by promoting faster service delivery, improved accountability and easier access to justice for emaSwati.
