KaLANGA – KaLanga Umphakatsi’s Thanksgiving Prayer Service delivered a strong call for Christians to remain faithful in interceding for Their Majesties and the nation, with Pastor Nkhosingiphile Mkwanazi emphasizing that such prayer is a clear biblical duty that supports peace, stability, and national unity.
Addressing hundreds of worshippers gathered under the theme Luke 17:16, Pastor Mkwanazi anchored his message on 1 Timothy 2:1–2, stressing that Scripture instructs believers to offer prayers and thanksgiving for all those in authority so that societies may live in peace and holiness.
“It is the duty of all Christians to pray for Their Majesties and the nation so that Eswatini may live in peace and holiness,” he said, urging believers to treat intercession for leadership as a consistent spiritual responsibility.
The service, held under the leadership of Chief Jozane Maziya, brought together church leaders, community members and government officials, including focused prayers for national peace, an end to crime and gender-based violence (GBV), youth unemployment, and economic transformation.
Pastor Mkwanazi’s message echoed a long-standing position frequently expressed in national prayer gatherings in Eswatini, where church leaders have repeatedly called on Christians to uphold intercession for Their Majesties, His Majesty King Mswati III and Her Majesty the Indlovukazi as well as national leadership.
Similar calls have been made at various national prayer platforms by church leaders such as Reverend L. Mnisi, Apostle Nhlanhla Hlatshwayo, Pastor Griffiths Dlamini, and Reverend Johannes Mazibuko, who have repeatedly emphasized 1 Timothy 2:1–2 as a foundation for praying for those in authority. Their messages have consistently focused on peace, protection of leadership, and national stability.
At KaLanga, the message was reinforced through collective prayers for national healing, including appeals for an end to social challenges, improved livelihoods for youth, and recovery of the livestock sector amid Foot-and-Mouth Disease concerns.
The congregation also lifted prayers for investors and economic growth, as well as strength and wisdom for Their Majesties and the leadership of Eswatini.
The Thanksgiving Prayer Service concluded in an atmosphere of worship, unity and renewed commitment to prayer, as KaLanga Umphakatsi reaffirmed that intercession for Their Majesties and the nation remains a cornerstone for peace, stability and national development. Worshippers left the gathering encouraged to uphold prayer as a daily responsibility for healing social challenges and strengthening the moral fabric of society.
