SITEKI– A royal visit coupled with a spirit of giving has brought renewed hope to communities in Siteki, as Her Royal Highness Princess Tiyandza and His Royal Highness Prince Benkhosi, together with students from Buckswood College in the United Kingdom, strengthened healthcare and youth development initiatives through a donation to Good Shepherd Catholic Hospital and College of Health Sciences and sports equipment support for Ngcina School.

The visit, which took place on July 8, 2026, saw Princess Tiyandza, a Buckswood College alumna, lead the delegation in presenting a donation worth E21 000, including 20 blankets, medical supplies, food and fresh vegetables to support patients and healthcare services at Good Shepherd Catholic Hospital.

The delegation toured the hospital before handing over the donation, which is expected to assist in improving patient care and complement the institution’s ongoing healthcare mission.

Princess Tiyandza thanked Buckswood College for its continued support and commitment to giving back to communities, highlighting the importance of partnerships that bring meaningful change.

She said the contribution demonstrated the students’ compassion and willingness to support initiatives that improve the lives of others.

Good Shepherd Catholic Hospital Chief Executive Officer Muzi Dlamini welcomed the donation, saying support from partners plays an important role in strengthening the hospital’s ability to serve patients and train future healthcare professionals.

“This contribution will go a long way in supporting our patients and students while helping us continue with our healthcare mission. We appreciate the generosity shown by Buckswood College and Her Royal Highness Princess Tiyandza for their commitment to making a difference in our community,” said Dlamini.

Located in Siteki in the Lubombo Region, Good Shepherd Catholic Hospital and College of Health Sciences is one of Eswatini’s key faith-based rural healthcare institutions. The facility provides essential healthcare services to communities while also training future health professionals.

The institution continues to rely on partnerships with individuals, organisations and well-wishers to complement its healthcare programmes and improve patient support.

Following the hospital visit, Princess Tiyandza and the Buckswood College students proceeded to Ngcina School, where they donated sports equipment aimed at promoting football development and encouraging pupils to participate in sport.

They were joined during the visit by His Royal Highness Prince Benkhosi, who supported the youth empowerment initiative.

The donation is expected to inspire pupils to develop their sporting talents while promoting teamwork, discipline and healthy lifestyles among young people.

The royal visit highlighted the positive impact of collaboration between educational institutions, healthcare facilities and communities, demonstrating how partnerships can contribute to social development.

Through the support from Buckswood College students, Princess Tiyandza and Prince Benkhosi, the initiatives provided assistance to both patients and pupils, reinforcing the importance of compassion, education and community service in building a stronger Eswatini.
