MBABANE– Entertainment lovers will have plenty to choose from on the first weekend of August as three major events are set to take place across Eswatini on August 1, promising a day packed with music, food, fashion and unforgettable experiences.
Leading the weekend is the Standard Bank Luju Food & Lifestyle Festival, which returns to House on Fire in Malkerns on August 1 and 2 under the theme “A Return to the African Future.” The festival is expected to once again bring together thousands of festival-goers from Eswatini and across the region for two days of world-class entertainment, cuisine, fashion and cultural experiences.
This year’s line-up blends internationally acclaimed artists with some of Eswatini’s finest musical talent. South African hip-hop heavyweight Nasty C headlines alongside jazz sensation Mandisi Dyantyis, Zola 7, Liquideep, Maleh, Wonderboom and The Masekela Band. Mozambique’s celebrated singer Neyma also joins the stellar programme.
Eswatini’s music industry will be well represented by fan favourites Bholoja, Shwi Mantombazane, T-Man Xpress, Thando Zide, Wandile Mbambeni, Judah Soul, DJ Bob, Cece & Rina, Sanchiezy, Circles & Squares, Katembe Connexion, Emagagu, Bathini, Tribal Natives, Oriiginelle, MK Hlophe and several other local acts, showcasing the country’s growing creative talent.
Away from Malkerns, fans looking for a party atmosphere can head to Espinho Restaurant & Bar, where the All White 3rd Edition will be headlined by South African rap superstar Cassper Nyovest. The event is expected to attract music lovers eager for an energetic nightlife experience.
Meanwhile, those travelling to Siteki, KaLanga, can enjoy the Winter Send-Off, featuring award-winning maskandi artist Big Zulu. The event promises an afternoon and evening of live performances as crow bid farewell to the winter season.
With three high-profile events taking place on the same day, the first weekend of August is shaping up to be one of the busiest on Eswatini’s entertainment calendar. Whether festival-goers are drawn to Luju’s unique blend of food, culture and music, Cassper Nyovest’s electrifying performance or Big Zulu’s signature maskandi sound, August 1 offers something for every entertainment enthusiast.
