…MP says development bringing light to communities once feeling left behind

MBABANE – For vulnerable families in Hosea, the sight of new houses rising in their communities is becoming more than a development project—it is a sign of hope, dignity and the promise of a safer future.

Hosea Member of Parliament Sifiso Mabuza says communities in the constituency are beginning to feel the impact of Government interventions, declaring that even areas that once felt forgotten are now witnessing visible change.

Speaking during the handover of two newly constructed houses in Hosea, Mabuza said the growing development activity in the constituency had given residents renewed confidence that Government programmes were reaching ordinary people.

“Nalakumnyama khona kuyakhanya,” Mabuza said, loosely translated to mean: even where there has been darkness, there is now light.

The MP said the phrase captured the mood of communities that had, for years, longed to see greater development and assistance reaching vulnerable families.

According to Mabuza, the change being experienced in Hosea demonstrates the Government of His Majesty King Mswati III’s commitment to improving the lives of Emaswati, particularly those facing difficult living conditions.

He expressed gratitude to His Majesty for interventions benefiting the constituency and also praised Deputy Prime Minister Thulisile Dladla for what he described as her willingness to respond when communities seek assistance.

Mabuza described the Deputy Prime Minister as a leader with compassion for the nation and said her responsiveness had made a meaningful difference to communities.

“We call her at night crying for the nation, but she does not turn a blind eye to our tears. She wakes up and runs,” he said.

The housing programme follows His Majesty’s visit to Hosea, during which an intervention was made for the construction of 10 houses for vulnerable families in the constituency.

Construction of the houses is now underway, raising hopes that more families who have struggled with inadequate shelter will soon have decent and secure places to call home.

For those receiving the houses, the intervention goes beyond bricks, roofing and walls. A proper home can provide security during harsh weather, restore dignity and give families a stable environment in which to raise their children.

Mabuza said the developments had particular significance for Hosea because residents had not always been accustomed to seeing such interventions reaching their communities.

He described the support as an expression of the “Agape Love” of His Majesty and said the King’s visit had opened a new chapter of hope for the constituency.

However, the MP stressed that national development should not be regarded as the responsibility of the King and Government alone.

He encouraged communities, businesses and other stakeholders to play their part by supporting initiatives that improve people’s lives and contribute towards the country’s development aspirations.

“We must help His Majesty accomplish his dream. Let us not just look at him, but help him,” Mabuza said.

His message was one of both gratitude and responsibility—acknowledging the assistance reaching Hosea while encouraging Emaswati to become active participants in improving their communities.

As construction of the remaining houses continues, families in Hosea are looking forward to the day when more vulnerable residents can move into safer and more dignified homes.

For the constituency, Mabuza believes the developments are proof that cooperation between leadership, Government and communities can transform lives.

And for families who once wondered when development would reach them, his message remains simple:

“Nalakumnyama khona kuyakhanya.”
