MANZINI— What began as a one-man operation has grown into a diversified enterprise employing more than 100 Emaswati, as Destiny Group celebrates 25 years of entrepreneurship, innovation, job creation and trusted partnerships.
The locally established company is marking its silver jubilee after transforming from a small music and sound business into a diversified group with interests spanning events management, ICT, construction and business technology solutions.
Founded in 2001, Destiny began as a one-person business known as Destiny Music and Sound before moving into a modest two-room office and studio at SEDCO Sidwashini.
Today, the company operates from its own office park in Ezulwini, reflecting a remarkable journey of growth driven by entrepreneurship, innovation, resilience and customer confidence.
The group has since expanded into Destiny Events, Destiny Group Technologies, Probuild Projects, Forever Young, Micro IT Solutions, Almona Group and Multisource.
For Destiny Group Director Tom Lin, reaching the 25-year milestone is a celebration of the people whose commitment has helped turn the company’s vision into a sustainable business.
“Our people have always been at the heart of this company. Some have spent close to 20 years with us and have helped shape who we are today. We are honoured by their input and dedication to growing the business,” Lin said.
The silver jubilee celebrations began last month with a special employee recognition and thanksgiving event in Ezulwini.
The occasion provided an opportunity for the company to reflect on its history while recognising employees who have played a significant role in its development. The programme included employee testimonials, a prayer service and the presentation of long-service awards, with some employees having served the company for almost two decades.
Lin said recognising employees at the beginning of the anniversary celebrations was important because their dedication had remained central to the company’s growth.
“Some have spent close to 20 years with us and have helped shape who we are today. We are honoured by their input and dedication to growing the business,” he said.
Having celebrated with its employees, Destiny Group is now preparing to honour another important part of its journey — its clients, partners and friends.
Lin said a special appreciation event would be held later this year to bring together the people and organisations that have supported the company over the past 25 years.
“We have been fortunate to work with many loyal clients, trusted partners and good friends who believed in us over the years. They have contributed to our growth in different ways, and we look forward to celebrating this milestone with them,” he said.
The date and venue for the appreciation event will be announced in the coming weeks.
Over the past quarter century, Destiny Group has established itself as a recognised provider of audio-visual, ICT and business technology solutions, delivering projects for churches, artists, government, corporate clients and development partners.
Its growth has also strengthened its footprint in Eswatini’s events and entertainment industry.
Through its partnership with MTN Eswatini, the company brought the internationally acclaimed MTN Joyous Celebration to the Kingdom for annual shows before developing MTN iPraise, which grew into one of the country’s flagship gospel music events.
The company’s 25-year milestone comes five years after it celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2021, marking another chapter in a business journey characterised by resilience, diversification and continued growth.
For Destiny Group, however, the silver jubilee is not simply a reflection on the past. It is also a platform from which the company intends to pursue its next phase of growth.
Lin said Destiny Group would continue investing in technology and expanding its range of services to respond to the changing needs of its clients.
“We remain committed to supporting organisations with practical, future-ready solutions while contributing to Eswatini’s economic development through innovation, investment and job creation,” he said.
The company is also set to showcase its services at the Eswatini International Trade Fair (EITF) 2026, providing an opportunity for members of the public, businesses and potential partners to engage with the group and learn more about its growing portfolio.
Destiny Group’s journey from a one-person enterprise to a diversified business employing more than 100 Emaswati highlights the potential of local entrepreneurship to create employment, develop skills, encourage innovation and contribute meaningfully to the national economy.
As it enters its next chapter, the company says it will build on the foundation established over the past 25 years, with innovation, strong partnerships, customer confidence and sustainable growth remaining at the heart of its vision.
