MANZINI Song, dance and traditional performance have drawn audiences to the Mavuso Trade Centre as groups compete in the ENCAC Culture Competitions at the Eswatini International Trade Fair (EITF) 2026.

The programme has brought together participants from different communities and institutions, with performers taking part in categories including Lutsango, Sibhaca and Ingadla.

In the Lutsango category, groups such as Gundvwini Lutsango and Ndlwaneni Lutsango have taken to the stage with coordinated movements, singing and carefully prepared presentations.

The Ingadla category has also provided some of the competition’s lively moments, with groups going head-to-head before the judges and EITF visitors. Piggs Peak Correctional featured among the Pool A participants, alongside Mdzimba UEDF. Each group has brought its own style and interpretation to the stage, with performances requiring coordination, rehearsal and teamwork.

For audiences, the competitions have offered an opportunity to see several traditional performance forms presented within one programme. The variety has also allowed visitors to experience performances from groups they may not ordinarily encounter.

The initiative forms part of EITF’s wider programme, which brings together business exhibitions, entertainment and community activities at the Mavuso Trade Centre. For the participating groups, however, the focus remains on delivering strong performances and progressing through the different stages of competition.

As the programme continues, attention will turn to the groups that can maintain their standard under the pressure of competing before judges and a live audience. Beyond the results, the competitions have created a space where performers can demonstrate their preparation, teamwork and knowledge of the forms they represent.

With several categories still generating interest, the ENCAC Culture Competitions remain one of the features adding variety to this year’s EITF programme.
