MANZINI – Love can be difficult to say out loud, but Genes Of The Vibe has found a way to put those unspoken emotions into music with his latest track, “Imizwa Yami.”
The Mbabane-based Amapiano artist teamed up with Acoustic Soul for the song, which features King Of Spades and Tavin. Together, they move away from the genre’s more familiar party atmosphere and explore a warmer, more intimate sound.
“Imizwa Yami”, meaning “My Feelings,” follows the story of a man who has carried feelings for a woman for a long time before finally deciding to open up. It is a familiar situation for anyone who has ever kept their emotions to themselves, and that vulnerability is what gives the song its character.
“It’s a song for everyone who has held onto feelings for too long. It’s time to speak,” said Genes Of The Vibe. The song combines log drums and lush keys with soulful harmonies, creating a groove that remains rooted in Amapiano while allowing the romantic storyline to take centre stage.
Acoustic Soul brings its harmonies to the collaboration, while Tavin adds melodic vocals and King Of Spades contributes to the production.
