EZULWINI – Twenty years of entertainment, memories and partnerships came alive under one roof on Thursday night as Swazi Boy Entertainment celebrated its milestone anniversary with a gala dinner that honoured the people and organisations that have helped shape its journey.
Held at Happy Valley Hotel, Ezulwini, the gala brought together entertainment figures, media personalities, partners, friends and supporters of the brand for an evening that combined recognition, music, laughter and celebration.
The event was led by master of ceremonies Phila Dlamini, popularly known as Ph.D, who guided guests through an evening that reflected on Swazi Boy Entertainment’s two-decade journey.
The night’s central focus was the recognition of partners who have supported Swazi Boy Entertainment in creating entertainment platforms and unforgettable moments in the Kingdom over the past 20 years.
Swazi Boy co-founder Mthunzi ‘Shadow’ Zwane expressed appreciation to the partners, acknowledging their contribution to the brand’s journey.
Among those honoured was the Times of Eswatini, recognised for its coverage and support of the local entertainment industry over the years.
Seasoned entertainment reporter Ntombi Mhlongo was also honoured, with Zwane crediting her work for having “shaken” the local entertainment industry.
Other media organisations recognised during the evening included EBIS, Eswatini Observer and Chanel YemaSwati, highlighting the role of media in documenting and amplifying Eswatini’s entertainment industry.
The recognition of the media partners provided a reminder that the growth of entertainment does not happen in isolation. Artists, event organisers, audiences and media platforms all contribute to building an industry and preserving its memories.
Beyond the honours, the gala carried the atmosphere of a celebration, with live performances adding to the evening’s entertainment.
Acclaimed artist Bholoja took to the stage, while gospel singer Linda Dlamini also entertained guests, adding different musical flavours to the celebration.
The evening was not short of laughter either.
Gogo became one of the memorable personalities of the night, bringing humour, energy and plenty of smiles to the gala.
Her presence added a lighter dimension to an evening centred on reflection and recognition, reminding guests that celebrating 20 years is also about enjoying the moments created along the way.
As the evening approached its conclusion, the celebration shifted into a birthday moment.
Mzwakhe “Tjovitjo” Khumalo led the guests in singing Happy Birthday to Swazi Boy Entertainment, turning the gala into a collective celebration of the milestone.
The birthday moment was followed by the cutting of the anniversary cake by Nozipho, famously known as UrGalZee, and Crooks, marking the official celebratory spirit of the evening.
With guests gathered around the cake, the moment brought together the different elements that had defined the night – recognition, entertainment, laughter, music and shared memories.
The gala dinner served as the opening chapter of Swazi Boy Entertainment’s wider 20th anniversary celebrations, bringing together people connected to the brand’s history while setting the tone for the festivities that follow.
For the partners who were honoured, the evening recognised years of contribution to the entertainment ecosystem.
