PIGGS PEAK- Validation of three Gender Impact Assessment Tools is currently underway as Eswatini prepares to host a Smart Africa co-creation workshop aimed at strengthening gender-responsive approaches in the country’s digital development sector.
The validation process is being conducted at the Ministry of ICT Conference Room ahead of the Smart Africa Co-creation Workshop for Co-development, Contextualisation and Piloting of Gender Impact Assessment Tools in Eswatini, scheduled for 6–8 October 2026 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Mbabane.
The workshop will bring stakeholders together to co-develop, contextualise and pilot the three Gender Impact Assessment Tools to ensure that they are relevant and applicable within the Eswatini context.
The initiative is expected to provide an opportunity for stakeholders to examine the tools, identify areas requiring adjustment and contribute to their refinement before they are piloted.

The three-day engagement will focus on ensuring that the tools are appropriately adapted to Eswatini’s local context and can effectively support the assessment of gender considerations in relevant programmes and initiatives.
The co-creation approach will also allow participants to contribute their knowledge and experience to the development of practical tools that respond to the country’s needs.
The workshop forms part of efforts under the Smart Africa initiative to promote inclusive digital transformation and ensure that gender considerations are incorporated into development processes.
