TAIPEI, TAIWAN – His Majesty King Mswati III has expressed appreciation to textile giant Tex Ray and its Chairman, Ray Lin, for their long-standing investment, trust and sustained confidence in Eswatini’s economy.

Speaking at a business dinner hosted by Lin in Taipei, the king commended the businessman for his commitment to the kingdom over the past decades, noting that Tex Ray’s sustained presence in the domestic textile sector has created thousands of jobs and served as a solid foundation for Eswatini-Taiwan economic relations.

“He has been in Eswatini now for quite some time, working very hard with our government, teams and so on, and there has been a very good relationship as a result. The time that he has been there shows that he has commitment, has trust and confidence in Eswatini and that is why we want more Taiwanese to follow suit.”

His Majesty expressed gratitude to Chairman Lin and Taiwanese officials for convening prominent captains of industry, financiers and entrepreneurs at the dinner, bringing key decision-makers directly to the table to explore emerging opportunities in the kingdom.

Building on Tex Ray’s successful track record, His Majesty issued an earnest call to more Taiwanese investors to follow suit and set up operations in Eswatini. “We are here to give you a location in Africa, and we are saying the location is Eswatini. We are ready to work with you whichever way, we are flexible and we continue today to give a lot of incentives,” he said.

The King reassured the Taiwanese business community that Eswatini remains fully prepared to accommodate investors by offering attractive financial incentives, streamlined decision-making processes, and a peaceful environment.

Highlighting the success of Taiwanese companies already operating in Eswatini, the King reiterated that the kingdom is ready to serve as a secure regional gateway for Taiwanese products entering the broader African market under existing free trade frameworks.

Chairman Lin warmly welcomed His Majesty and the delegation to the dinner, expressing his deep honor at hosting the gathering. He reaffirmed his personal dedication and determination to foster strong, lasting economic cooperation between Taiwan and Eswatini.

Present among the local delegation during the event were Commerce, Indsutry and Trade Minister, Manqoba Khumalo, Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Minister, Pholile Shakantu, Eswatini Investment Promotion Authority (EIPA) Chief Executive Officer, Sibane Mngomezulu, Eswatini Ambassador to Taiwan, Vulindlela Kunene, and King’s Private Secretary Mbongeni Simelane.
