MANZINI – Mountains are built to stand firm, but in Umdzimba, Cate Officixl, Siantor Siwela and Mtiagoo use the image of one to explore what happens when people challenge the limits placed before them.
The collaboration draws its name from Umdzimba, a mountain in Eswatini, turning a familiar part of the country’s landscape into a symbol of ambition, resilience and the determination to prove doubters wrong.
For the three artists, the idea is not simply about climbing to the top. Their message, as outlined in the release, is about changing what people believe is possible and refusing to let other people’s expectations determine how far they can go.
That gives Umdzimba a distinctly local identity while connecting it to a familiar theme in hip-hop: finding your voice, standing by your journey and making room for yourself in an industry where recognition takes time.
The collaboration also brings together three artists under one idea — that progress does not have to follow a path already laid out by others. Instead of presenting success as an individual victory, the song frames it as a shared statement of confidence and intent.
For Cate Officixl, that theme connects with his recent recognition at the 2026 National Art and Culture Awards, where he won Best Regional Hip-Hop Artist for Shiselweni. He is also competing for Outstanding Hip Hop Artist at the national level, according to the information supplied for the release.
His achievement adds another layer to a song concerned with growth and moving beyond regional boundaries, although the message extends to all three collaborators.
Now available on digital music platforms, Umdzimba invites listeners to consider the mountain not only as an obstacle, but also as a reminder that what seems immovable can be challenged.
For Cate Officixl, Siantor Siwela and Mtiagoo, the mountain is the metaphor. The bigger conversation is about ambition, identity and the courage to challenge expectations.
