MBABANE – The African Chefs Alliance (ACA) is set to join the vibrant African Carnival Eswatini parade on August 31, 2024, at Mavuso Trade Centre.
This was confirmed by the events manager, Thabiso Vilakati, in an interview with the publication. This exciting collaboration aims to celebrate African culture through culinary excellence and community engagement.
“Attendees can expect a delightful array of traditional dishes and innovative culinary creations from talented chefs, highlighting the diversity of African cuisine,” Vilakati said.
The ACA, which is a non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting the culinary arts across Africa, will showcase the rich gastronomic heritage of the continent during the Carnival. Following the carnival, the festivities will continue at the Africa Fest 2024 after-party at Sibebe Resort, where the ACA will further engage with festival-goers.
Eswatini, President of the United African Communities and UN Peace Ambassador Emmanuel Ofori said, “This event promises to be a celebration of food, music, and culture, fostering unity and camaraderie among chefs and food enthusiasts.”
The ACA’s participation underscores its commitment to on-going education and skill development in the culinary field, as well as its dedication to uplifting the industry across African nations. As the culinary landscape continues to evolve, events like the African Carnival and Africa Fest play a crucial role in showcasing the talents of African chefs and promoting the continent’s rich culinary heritage.
The Africa Fest after-party will be held at Sibebe Resort will feature a stellar line-up of international artists. The headliners for the event will be the renowned South African artists; Sun El Musician and A-Reece. They will share the stage with a host of talented local artists, such as DJ Sgitha, Young Zesh, and Trend Twins, among others. This promises to be a night of non-stop entertainment that will delight music lovers from all over the country.
Tickets for the event are available for purchase at Galitos outlets in Manzini, Ezulwini, and Mbabane. General presale is E150 at the gate, it will be E200 for VIP’ while the presale is E200. At the gate, the ticket will be E300.
