MBABANE – The Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) has officially granted the Swaziland National Association of Teachers (SNAT) permission to host the 2025 Teachers’ Day Celebration at Mavuso Exhibition and Trade Centre on Friday, October 24, 2025.
In a letter addressed to the SNAT General Secretary, the Ministry confirmed its approval for the annual commemoration, recognizing the importance of honouring the men and women who dedicate their lives to nurturing Eswatini’s future leaders. The correspondence, signed by Dr. Thokozile C. Mngometulu on behalf of the Principal Secretary, emphasizes that teachers are allowed to attend the event, provided that essential school programmes such as examinations remain uninterrupted.
“On this day, teachers are allowed to attend, but ongoing school programmes like examinations need not be disturbed,” the letter reads.
“This implies that teachers involved in such programmes must be available to perform them. This will ensure that schools are run properly.”
A Celebration of Dedication and Service
Teachers’ Day remains one of the most anticipated events in the education calendar, serving as a moment to celebrate educators’ resilience, innovation, and unwavering commitment to shaping young minds. This year’s commemoration, organized by SNAT, is expected to draw teachers from across all four regions of the Kingdom, transforming Mavuso Exhibition Centre into a hub of joy, reflection, and professional pride.
SNAT has expressed gratitude to the Ministry for its continued collaboration and support, which reflects the government’s recognition of teachers as vital partners in national development.
Striking a Balance Between Celebration and Duty
The Ministry’s message also underscores the importance of maintaining academic continuity. Schools will continue normal operations where necessary, particularly for ongoing examinations and administrative responsibilities. This balance ensures that while teachers celebrate their profession, learners’ education remains uninterrupted.
A Symbol of Unity and Progress
The 2025 Teachers’ Day theme is expected to focus on “Empowering Educators for a Digitally Connected Eswatini”, in line with His Majesty King Mswati III’s vision of a digital transformation across all sectors, including education. The event will feature motivational speeches, cultural performances, and recognition of outstanding teachers who have made exceptional contributions to the sector.
As anticipation builds toward the grand event, teachers across the nation are preparing to come together in unity and celebration, a reflection of their shared mission to inspire, educate, and empower.
