MBABANE – Following the successful hosting of the Africa Union Sports Council (AUSC) Region V Under-18 selection, Athletics Eswatini (AE) is set to hold the National Technical Officials Symposium on January 18, 2025.

The symposium will take place at Manzini Central High School in the morning, with practical sessions scheduled for the afternoon at Mavuso Sports Centre. The program will begin at 8:00 a.m. and aims to enhance the skills, knowledge, and licensing of technical officials.

“This symposium offers comprehensive workshops and discussions led by experts. Attendees will gain insights into the latest updates in technical officiating, participate in hands-on activities, and prepare for exams to progress in their roles as technical officials,” reads a statement from AE.

Designed for both seasoned officials seeking advancement and newcomers eager to establish their careers, the event provides a platform for learning and professional growth. The symposium includes a practical segment to apply newly acquired skills, followed by assessments and grading for licensing.

Meanwhile, the AUSC Region V selection was hailed as a great success, with young athletes competing at the Mavuso Sports Centre last Saturday. The event saw winners awarded gold, silver, and bronze medals across various disciplines. However, the team selection process is ongoing, with further competitions planned to finalize the roster.
