The Ministry of Agriculture is set to host a Pig Production Training for Beginners on the 26th and 27th of February 2025 at the Mbabane Library. The training, which will run from 09:00 AM to 2:00 PM, aims to equip aspiring pig farmers with essential knowledge and skills to kickstart their journey in pig production. Entry is completely free, and no prior registration is required.
The event is organised in collaboration with key partners such as Farm Services and the Centre for Financial Inclusion (CFI), ensuring that attendees receive comprehensive guidance on both the practical and financial aspects of pig farming.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture’s Livestock Extension Officer, Simphiwe, the training is specifically designed for beginners and individuals who have no prior knowledge of pig farming but are considering starting. Participants will be introduced to the basics of pig production, including the structure of proper pig housing, feeding, health management, and marketing strategies. The training will cover everything a beginner needs to know, from setting up a farm to selling pigs when they are market-ready.
