MBABANE – There are big infrastructure projects that are said to be implemented at Mdumezulu Chiefdom, under Dvokodvweni Constituency, in the Lubombo Region.
The projects include building a high school and improving roads in the area, according to Eswatini TV. This transpired on March 1, 2025 during the Beginning of the Year Prayer Service held at Mdumezulu Umphakatsi.
During the prayer service, Prince Kusa, who is the chief of Mdumezulu, pleaded with the residents of his area to be pioneers of development for their Chiefdom.
Prince Kusa said no one would develop Mdumezulu for the residents. He said they did not want to always intervene between residents who engaged in fights.
The chief advocated for cooperation and peaceful settlement between residents. He further warned against pride among residents, advising them to stop that and focus on development.
Prince Kusa also reminded the residents that they were under His Majesty King Mswati III and they always had to respect him at all times. He stated that Mdumezulu, unlike other chiefdoms, was one for the areas that were allocated to King Mbandzeni to be ruled by his descendants.
