Manzini – Local creative collective BlackDegree is making waves in the gospel scene with their newest release, Mabizwa Sabele — a spiritually uplifting single delivering a strong message of hope, purpose, and unwavering faith, especially to creatives finding their way through life’s storms.
Translating to “When Called, They Answer,” the song is more than just a catchy melody. It’s a reminder that divine timing is always at play. “Hope and faith are what inspired this song,” a BlackDegree spokesperson shared. “It speaks to the belief that when you call unto the Lord, He will surely answer.”

Though initially scheduled for an Easter release, the group faced unexpected delays — but they say the timing worked out perfectly. “The support has been incredible. People have connected deeply with the message and visuals,” they said.
The music video, shot at the iconic chapel at the University of Eswatini’s Kwaluseni Campus, merges tradition with modernity. “We chose that setting intentionally — to resonate with both older and younger audiences. Faith doesn’t age,” they explained.
Behind the scenes, the energy was electric. “From scripting to the final cut, everything just flowed. Everyone on set knew the story we wanted to tell,” BlackDegree added. Their mission was clear: uplift and inspire, especially fellow creatives in the arts community who may feel lost or discouraged.

“We kept the sound simple because simplicity is the ultimate sophistication,” they noted. “This project was a growth moment for us — working with new creatives, learning from each other. It felt like a spiritual collaboration.”
Mabizwa Sabele is now available on YouTube via Blackdegree Ent., and fans can expect more live performances and visuals soon.
“You don’t need huge numbers to be successful,” the group emphasized. “You just need heart. Keep the art in the heart.”
With this release, BlackDegree continues to push boundaries, showing that gospel music can be both timeless and trendsetting — a true anthem for anyone who needs a reminder that they are not alone.
