MBABANE- In a thrilling showdown that had fans on the edge of their seats, Mbabane Central High School delivered a resounding performance against Nsukumbili High School in the latest round of the InstaCash schools soccer tournament quarter finals.
The match, held at the Prince of Wales Stadium, saw Mbabane Central avenge against Nsukumbili with a 4-1 win after they were defeated by the same School in last year’s season. From the first whistle, Mbabane Central displayed intent and control, dominating possession and creating multiple scoring opportunities. Their relentless pressure paid off mid-way through the first half when Mbabane Central high school had their first goal.
According to Mbabane Central high school couch Malinga, as a school they are very happy with the performance of their boys and they were expecting good results. ” We are happy with the boy’s performance. He said. ” We were expecting a win since this was a revenge game because Nsukumbili once defeated us last season on a tournament that was sponsored by triple X A . So this was a grudge game.” Added Malinga.
Malinga also mentioned that they are looking forward to winning all the way from regional to national level. “We are looking forward to winning all the way and representing Mbabane.” Said Malinga.
Despite Nsukumbili High’s perseverance to fight against Mbabane Central in the final minutes, Mbabane Central held firm, securing a well-deserved 4-1 victory. The win marks a significant statement from the Mbabane side as they aim for the tournament title.
The result sees Mbabane Central progress confidently into the next round, while Nsukumbili High will need to regroup and refocus as they prepare for their next fixture in the competition.
