BUHLENI — The Buganu ceremony will be integrated into the education curriculum of Eswatini, as announced by Minister of Education and Training Owen Nxumalo on February 22, 2025.
This decision reflects a growing recognition of the importance of cultural events in the educational framework of the country.

Minister Nxumalo expressed his admiration for the turnout at the ceremony, noting that it attracted both Emaswati and international visitors. He emphasized that the increasing attendance over the years indicates a global appreciation for the Buganu ceremony. This cultural event, alongside others like Umhlanga and Incwala, is seen as vital to preserving the nation’s heritage and fostering unity among its people.

The minister says Lutsango gets to be taught many things during this ceremony, like starting businesses and many other skills like producing different kinds of food.
