MBABANE – Government has intensified the implementation of its strategic priorities, driving tangible progress across critical sectors.

Through coordinated action and high-level collaboration, Cabinet is ensuring that the Kingdom’s development goals move from plans to real, impactful outcomes for EmaSwati. This is contained in the second quarter report tabled in parliament.

Driving Strategic National Projects

Cabinet Ministers have reported significant strides in infrastructure development, economic growth, and social empowerment initiatives. Strategic projects, ranging from road networks to ICT connectivity, are being fast-tracked to stimulate job creation and enhance service delivery. The expansion of the fibre-optic network and free Wi-Fi rollout across Tinkhundla centres is already transforming communities by improving access to information and services.

Economic Growth Through Partnerships

Government has strengthened partnerships with the private sector and international stakeholders to boost investment and trade. Initiatives such as the upcoming Eswatini Investment Conference, ongoing SACUM-UK trade engagements, and MSME policy implementation reflect a clear vision to position Eswatini as a competitive player in regional and global markets. These efforts are unlocking opportunities for local entrepreneurs, creating sustainable jobs, and attracting new industries.

Social Empowerment at the Core

Recognising that development is people-centred, Cabinet has prioritised initiatives that uplift vulnerable communities. Programmes in education, agriculture, and health are delivering essential support, from dignity packs for learners to agricultural machinery for cooperatives. These targeted interventions are empowering households and building resilient communities.

A Culture of Accountability and Transparency

Cabinet’s focus on performance monitoring and reporting ensures that progress is measurable and transparent. Regular reporting mechanisms and cross-ministerial coordination are enabling timely delivery, efficient resource use, and responsive decision-making.

Conclusion

The current pace of delivery reflects a government that is not only setting ambitious goals but is actively ensuring their achievement. With clear priorities, strong partnerships, and a focus on tangible impact, Eswatini is on a promising trajectory toward inclusive growth and sustainable national development.
