MBABANE – Runners who want to be part of the Mbabane Half Marathon have only few hours to register and book a spot in the run.
Registration for the event billed for November 23, 2024 at the Prince of Wales close this afternoon and runners can register by going through the www.mbabane..org.sz. Runners can also visit the Municipal Council of Mbabane stall at the Swazi Plaza to register manually.
The Mbabane Half Marathon comprises of three run being the 21km, 10km and 5km. It’s E180 to register for the 21km, E130 for the 10km run and E60 for the 5km. The event to start and finish at the Prince of Wales Sports Ground will start with the 21km at 5:30am.
The Mbabane Half Marathon is sponsored by MTN through Fintech and they forked out E250 000 to the event that is set to attract about 2 000 people including international. Last year the event attracted about 1 500 runners.
There are great prizes to be won by the winners on the day, but the prize breakdown is yet to be announced.
It will be a busy day in Mbabane as the Mbabane Half Marathon will be held alongside the Mbabane Fun day were there are plenty of activities that will be taking places including sports tournament including basketball, boxing and netball among others.
There are also going to be kid’s fun games on the day and those in attendance will also be entertained by the local comedians Gogo and Slwane.
