DJ Cup (born Welcome Maseko) will take centre stage in Maputo in Mozambique on 21 February 2025.
The show presented by Xibalo Label Showcase will be held at South Beach in Maputo, set to kick off at 9 pm as confirmed by Maseko.
The line-up will also include Mozambique’s talented producer, House DJ, and remixer, Sky White, who was the headliner at the All White Homecoming Cross Over party, which was held at the Happy Valley Hotel on New Year’s Eve. Other DJs on the line-up will include, Double Drop, Yuss, Milena Silva, Ritmicki, and Hram.
When reached for comment, DJ Cup shared with this publication that this will not be his first time performing in the coastal town. He last performed there on 20 July 2024. He said, “I am looking forward to Mozambique; it is always a vibe,” shared the DJ.
Last year in April, DJ Cup released his new single titled Groove in the City, in Mozambique, Maputo Opium Club. It is worth noting that Opium is one of the biggest clubs in Mozambique.
DJ Cup has been a DJ for over 10 years now and has performed at countless events in Eswatini, South Africa, Tanzania, and Mozambique. DJ Cup specialises mostly in deep house music. He also produces house music. He also does deep house podcast mixes, both online and offline.
The DJ is currently working as the Operations Director of New Life Entertainment. A local entertainment establishment that deals with events, sound hire models, music, and a recording studio.
Some of his projects include a feature with Floewe on a song titled Take Me Away, Happiness, where he worked with Slotta and Mvelo; Amaphupho, which featured Mandisa.
DJ Cup had a passion for House music from an early age. He started his journey by buying music and getting his favourite DJ’s playlists on Spotify and other digital platforms. With a decade of experience and a collection of awards under his belt, DJ Cup’s distinctive style, carefully curated sets, and passion for deep house are sure to make the night one to remember. As a full-time entertainer, the DJ has performed at countless events in his homeland, Eswatini, South Africa, Tanzania, and Mozambique.
His experience has won him a collection of awards under his belt. These include the MTN SWAMA Awards for being the best house song in 2020 and the MTN SWAMA Awards 2021 for the best collaboration, where he featured Mandisa Mamba on Emaphupho.
