EZULWINI – Twenty years of making memories deserves more than a birthday cake. It deserves music, fashion, nightlife and a stage packed with names that can match the milestone — and Swazi Boy Entertainment is bringing all of that to the Kingdom.
As the entertainment powerhouse prepares to celebrate two decades in the industry, South African stars DJ Zinhle, Young Stunna and Vinny Da Vinci have been confirmed among the headline names for the 20th anniversary celebration, set for September 24 and 26 at Happy Valley Hotel, Ezulwini.
But the celebrations will get moving before the main weekend programme, with a free-entry activation at Albert Millin on Friday from 4pm until late.
The activation will set the tone for the anniversary weekend with DJs DJ Crooks, Tibza, Mafaka, Matamza and Cece taking over the decks, giving entertainment lovers an early taste of what Swazi Boy has prepared for its milestone celebration.
Speaking during the official launch at Happy Valley Hotel, Swazi Boy founder and director Mthunzi “Shadow” Zwane said the anniversary is bigger than the company itself, placing the creative industry at the heart of the celebrations.
“Swazi Boy’s 20th anniversary is not about us as Swazi Boy, but the entire industry as a whole in the creative space,” said Shadow.
The weekend will also bring a strong fashion element, with Era by DJ Zinhle confirmed to host a pop-up store at Happy Valley on Friday and Saturday.
The fashion-accessory brand, founded by DJ Zinhle, will give guests an opportunity to shop the brand while experiencing the anniversary celebrations, adding a fashion-forward dimension to a weekend already loaded with music and entertainment.
The Era pop-up is expected to turn Happy Valley into more than just a concert destination, bringing together music, fashion, shopping and nightlife under one roof.
For Shadow, however, the celebration remains rooted in the people who have helped build Eswatini’s creative landscape.
Times of Eswatini Managing Director Martin Dlamini reflected on Swazi Boy’s contribution to entertainment management and its role in creating opportunities for local talent to share platforms with international stars.
A Peculiar People Founder and Executive Director Melusi “Zox” Dlamini also reflected on the platforms and experiences created by Swazi Boy for people working across the creative sector.
Now, with two decades behind it, Swazi Boy is opening the next chapter with a celebration that stretches beyond one stage.
From Friday’s free-entry Albert Millin activation to the September 25 and 26 anniversary weekend, the programme brings together DJs, artists, fashion, shopping and the wider creative industry.
And with DJ Zinhle, Young Stunna, Vinny Da Vinci and Era by DJ Zinhle joining the party, Swazi Boy’s big 20 is shaping up to be a celebration where the music plays, the fashion speaks and two decades of creative history takes centre stage.
