MBABANE – Prince of Wales Sports Ground is set to be the place to be on December 31, where one will get to engage in the Shukuma Eswatini and also be part of the Mbabane Cross-Over with only E100.
The Shukuma Eswatini programme, under the Eswatini Sports and Recreation Council (ESRC), will be headlined by South Africa’s ‘King of Squats’ Nkululeko Dlamini while artists to perform during the cross-over are yet to be announced.
The inaugural Mbabane Cross-Over was officially launched today (Thursday, November 21, 2024) by the Minister of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs Bongani Nzima in the presence of Philani Maswati Charity Organisation Chairman Lutfo Dlamini and Mbabane East Member of Parliament (MP) Welcome Dlamini.
Philani Maswati Chairman Lutfo Dlamini announced that with only E100, a person would be able to be part of all the activities on the day that would start on December 31, 2024 to January 1, 2025.
He said the proceedings on the day would then benefit the poor and elders from Mbabane. He invited the public to support this initiative, as it was something they were engaging in from now onwards.
“We urge companies to buy tickets for their staff to support this initiative. It will be a good day to be enjoyed as entertainment will be galore starting with the Shukuma Eswatini and then the cross-over. There is going to be gospel artists and other to give entertainment and a prayer service,” he said.
Dlamini then gave special thanks to the Municipal Council of Mbabane for also joining in supporting this initiative. He said the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Gciniwe Fakudze was also supportive during the launch of the Eswatini Biggest Braai and now she was also supportive of the Mbabane Cross-Over.
Mbabane East Member of Parliament (MP) Welcome Dlamini highlighted the financial struggles faced by urban residents, countering the perception that they were not in need. Dlamini encouraged the community to rally behind this initiative, which aimed to improve the lives of those in Mbabane.
