MAGUBHELENI – For years, every dark cloud carried a sense of fear for Joloba Mazibuko (70). Living in a deteriorating mud house under the Nsukazi Chiefdom, the elderly man endured countless sleepless nights, uncertain whether his home would withstand another rainy season. On July 18, 2026, those fears gave way to tears of joy when Rainbow General Suppliers and Stationery handed him the keys to a newly built E190 000 house, restoring not only his shelter but also his dignity and hope.
The emotional handover ceremony marked a life-changing moment for Mazibuko, whose dream of owning a safe and decent home became a reality through the company’s corporate social responsibility programme.
Former Minister of Health Sibongile Ndlela-Simelane, who officiated at the ceremony, used the occasion to challenge businesses across Eswatini to become stronger partners in community development by investing in projects that improve the lives of vulnerable citizens.
“Development is not the responsibility of government alone. The private sector also has an important role to play. Rainbow Stationery has demonstrated that businesses can make a lasting difference by investing in the wellbeing of ordinary citizens. I hope many more companies will be inspired to follow this path,” she said.
Ndlela-Simelane applauded Rainbow General Suppliers and Stationery for setting an example of responsible corporate citizenship, saying initiatives that provide decent housing restore dignity, uplift families and strengthen communities.
For Mazibuko, the new home is far more than bricks and mortar. It is a symbol of security, comfort and a future no longer overshadowed by fear and uncertainty.
Overcome with emotion, he thanked Rainbow General Suppliers and Stationery for giving him a second chance at life.
“Today marks a new chapter in my life. I never expected to receive such a blessing. I sincerely thank Rainbow Stationery and everyone who contributed to making this dream a reality. I will always be grateful for your kindness,” he said.
