MANZINI – Ekukhanyeni High School is making waves on the continental stage as its student-led company, Kwakhanya PlantIQ, prepares to represent Eswatini at the Junior Achievement Africa Company of the Year (COY) Competition in Nigeria this December.
The competition celebrates young innovators across Africa, and Ekukhanyeni’s entry showcases the ingenuity, resilience, and entrepreneurial spirit of rural Swazi students.
The company’s innovation is rooted in practical solutions for agriculture: Kwakhanya PlantIQ is a smart irrigation and fertigation system that monitors soil moisture and nutrient levels in real time. Affordable, intelligent, and impactful, it addresses real challenges faced by farmers in Eswatini and beyond.
To accompany their entry, the school released a powerful commercial video highlighting the impact of their solution and the dedication of their young innovators. The video is not just a presentation—it is a call to action for all Swati citizens to get involved and show support.
