MBABANE – Lobamba MP Micheal Masilela advised the hundreds of people who attended the prayer ceremony at Elangeni to open funeral plans.

While speaking during the event at the weekend, Masilela encouraged the people who had attended the event to be responsible and have funeral plans as this was vital for families especially those who are disadvantaged. He said this would ease the pressure from family members who are always left with the responsibility to bury their loved ones when they pass on.

He said it was now important for people to plan for the future to avoid leaving their loved ones and communities in difficult financial situations when they pass on.

Although funeral policies are long-term, they usually pay out initial benefits within 48 hours to assist the beneficiaries with the immediate financial aspects of the funeral. Quick access to funds can be very useful to the family of the deceased to prepare for a dignified send-off.

Moreover, the MP, who is also a successful businessman then donated bags of rice and mealie meal. The food parcels were distributed at the event.

The end-of-year prayer ceremony also saw Senator Princess Senteni Magongo pleading with the community to pray for peace within families and in the country as she said the rising number of Gender-Based Violence cases was a cause for concern. The princess said the nation needed to come together and pray for this issue.

“We need to hold hands as nation and pray against the domestic violence cases which have taken the country by storm. We need to for peace, as peace in the country and within families will put an end to this disease,” she said.

The prayer session attracted a number of people and pastors who shared the word of God and prayed for the issues raised by the invited speakers. Some of the pastors who ministered during the event included Pastor Phinda Msibi.
