The exhibition booth featured diverse attractions, such as national parks, adventure activities, and traditional experiences, positioning Eswatini as a prime travel destination.

Cultural Events

The presence of Eswatini at the Caravan Show coincided with the Buganu Festival at the Buhleni Royal Residence, celebrating the marula harvest. This festival showcased traditional performances, including the tetfulo dance, and highlighted the vibrant culture of Eswatini. The festival not only attracted locals but also international visitors, emphasising the country’s rich traditions.

Additionally, the upcoming Hlane Buganu Festival was promoted, promising another vibrant celebration of Eswatini’s cultural heritage with traditional dances, music, and ceremonies.

Future Prospects

ETA’s Head of Marketing, Chunky Dlamini, confirmed that the event was focused on marketing outdoor tourism. She noted the importance of showcasing annual activities like the Buganu Festivals, Makoti Festival, and Bushfire Festival. Dlamini also mentioned the anticipated operation of the International Convention Centre (ICC) in Ezulwini, which could enable Eswatini’s participation in Meetings Africa, a significant trade show.

The ETA aims to attract 2 million tourists by 2027, generating an income of E2 billion in the process. Participating in events like the Beeld/Caravan Show is seen as a crucial step towards achieving this goal.
