MBABANE – Eswatini’s health sector is demonstrating resilience and adaptability in response to the temporary pause in US foreign assistance, with both government and partner organizations coming together to maintain essential services.

The Ministry of Health has highlighted that, while PEPFAR funding has played a critical role in Eswatini’s HIV and TB response, the country has developed strong health structures that will help sustain key programs during this period.

Local and international partners, including NGOs such as NERCHA, EGPAF, and The Luke Commission, continue to work closely with the Ministry to find alternative solutions. The government is also ensuring that core healthcare services remain functional, particularly in HIV testing, treatment, and gender-based violence (GBV) prevention programs.

The Ministry is actively engaging stakeholders to explore additional funding sources and ensure that health services remain accessible to all. With a collaborative approach and proactive measures, Eswatini remains on course to maintain its health achievements and safeguard its population.
