MBABANE– A brilliant young mind from Eswatini is flying the country’s flag high on the international stage. Nkosenhle Mbhamali has been honoured with the prestigious Taiwan International Cooperation and Development Fund (ICDF) Academic Performance Award, a testament to his exceptional dedication and intellectual prowess.
The award, which is reserved for a select few international students who demonstrate superior academic excellence, recognizes Mbhamali’s outstanding performance during the final semester of 2025. This remarkable achievement serves as a shining example that education truly has no borders, proving that with determination and focus, students from Eswatini can compete and excel among the best in the world. As Mbhamali carries the spirit of his homeland to the classrooms of East Asia, he stands as an inspiring ambassador, demonstrating how knowledge acts as a universal language that bridges cultures and continents.
Currently based in Taiwan, Mbhamali is pursuing an International Master Program in Civil Engineering and Management at the highly-regarded National Cheng Kung University (NCKU). His success not only marks a significant personal milestone but also highlights the growing success and capabilities of liSwati scholars studying abroad. By navigating the rigorous demands of advanced engineering in a foreign environment, he is effectively demonstrating that academic ambition knows no physical limits.
Reflecting on this significant accomplishment, Mbhamali expressed deep gratitude for the opportunities he has been afforded.
“I would first like to express my sincere appreciation to Taiwan ICDF and National Cheng Kung University for granting me such a wonderful opportunity to further my studies,” Mbhamali stated. “I am truly honoured to be recognized for my outstanding performance.”
