PIGG’S SPEAK – The vibrant spirit of Eswatini’s rich cultural heritage was on full display at the Killarney Stadium in Pigg’s Peak, where the Eswatini Schools Arts and Culture competition continued its regional rounds. Schools from across the Hhohho North region gathered to showcase their talents in a variety of cultural and artistic categories.
The event drew a large crowd of supporters, parents, and community members who came to witness the creative flair and dedication of young performers. Participating schools competed in several categories, including drill, African dance, kwaito, ummiso, sizingili, sbhaca, ingadla, show prop, and more. The competition not only highlighted traditional dance and music styles but also celebrated the diversity and creativity of Eswatini’s youth.
Schools brought their best performances, with students displaying discipline, coordination, and cultural pride. The atmosphere was filled with vibrant costumes, rhythmic drumbeats, and enthusiastic cheers.
Top-performing schools were honored with trophies for their excellence and dedication. Among the recognized schools were Ekudvwaleni, Madlangemiphis, Timphisini, Mayiwane, Ntfonjeni, Ekubongeni and Magobodvo, to name a few.
The Eswatini Schools Arts and Culture competition continues to play a vital role in preserving and promoting the nation’s cultural identity while encouraging young people to take pride in their roots. As the competition moves forward to other regions, anticipation remains high for more awe-inspiring performances and cultural celebration.
