MBABANE– Eswatini continues to expand its voice on the global stage, joining fellow Commonwealth nations in shaping conversations about economic growth, cooperation, and shared prosperity.
The Kingdom recently took part in the Commonwealth Foreign Affairs Ministers Meeting 2026, hosted at the historic Lancaster House in London. The gathering brought together senior diplomats and representatives from across the 55-member Commonwealth family, united under the theme “Unlocking Opportunities for a Prosperous Commonwealth.”
Eswatini was represented by Thandazile Mbuyisa, who attended the meeting on behalf of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Pholile Shakantu.
The high-level discussions focused on strengthening collaboration among member states while exploring ways to accelerate economic development, expand trade opportunities, and advance sustainable growth across the Commonwealth.
During the meeting, Eswatini reaffirmed its support for the Commonwealth Strategic Plan 2025–2030, a framework aimed at building resilient economies, strengthening democratic governance, and addressing environmental challenges affecting member countries.
The platform also enabled ministers and senior officials to exchange ideas on collective solutions to pressing global issues, including climate change, economic uncertainty, and the pursuit of sustainable development.
Importantly, the meeting serves as a key preparatory platform for the upcoming Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) 2026, where national leaders will gather later this year to set the direction for the Commonwealth’s future.
For Eswatini, participation in such international forums reflects the country’s ongoing commitment to constructive diplomacy and meaningful partnerships. Through active engagement with global partners, the Kingdom continues to explore new opportunities that support development, strengthen cooperation, and contribute to a more prosperous Commonwealth community.
