MBABANE– Comedy has shown tremendous growth as local comedians are now recognised beyond our shores.
A talented line-up of Eswatini comedy stars is set to perform in South Africa’s Mpumalanga at Emalahleni’s much-anticipated Good Comedy Night Out on Saturday (November 23, 2024). The event will be held at the Emalahleni Civic Theatre.
The line-up for the night includes some of the biggest names in Eswatini comedy, namely, Gogo, S’lwane, Bongiswa, Darren, and Gedlembane. The event will also feature Mpumalanga’s finest Vusi Mongwe and Oscar Omuhle. Additionally, the event will feature M Nation-born Wandile Ndlovu as a refreshing act, and Eswatini superstar poet Festival B-born Siphesihle Dlamini further enhancing the already stellar line-up. With such a diverse array of comedic talent, attendees can expect a night packed with rib-cracking jokes and memorable performances.
In an exclusive interview, comedian Gogo-born Mduduzi Nkambule expressed his excitement for the upcoming show, emphasising the significance of the Emalahleni corridor as one of their strongholds in the Mpumalanga province. “Every time we are there, it is always beautiful ‘chaos’, so it is only best we treat the people there to the very thing they love us for—comedy—and do so alongside two of their very own in Oscar Omuhle and Vusi Mongwe,” he shared.
Gogo further elaborated on the purpose behind their performance, stating, “We are actually on a warm-up tour of parts of Mpumalanga, as a token of appreciation for the love our people in Mpumalanga continue showering us with.”
Expectations for the evening are high, with Gogo promising an experience that is both familiar and elevated. “People should expect the usual, but a bit better this time; more rib-cracking laughs, memories, and an overall good time,” he stated confidently.
S’lwane-born Ncamiso Ntshingila, another prominent figure in the line-up, echoed Gogo’s sentiments about the event. “The line-up is simply the best of Eswatini meets the best of Mpumalanga, and this time we are tagging alongside the legend, Gedlembane, and the future legends, Darren and Bongiswa. If you have watched them all on stage, you know they tear that thing up every time—and the masses love them!” he exclaimed.
S’lwane mentioned the inclusion of the talented duo Oscar Omuhle and Vusi Mongwe, both hailing from Mpumalanga. “Fireworks all over,” he remarked, hinting at the explosive blend of humour and artistry that the audience can expect.
The comedians are resolute in their commitment to delivering an exceptional experience. “We have never let anyone down in any of our shows, and we are not about to start now. So, looking for a good time out laughing and creating memories? This is your event!” S’lwane urged.
