SITHOBELWENI – Young rapper Fanson makes waves with new single “Abafuni Siphumelele,” inspiring resilience.
Eswatini’s rising hip-hop star Fanson has officially released his much-anticipated single “Abafuni Siphumelele”, which dropped on Friday, 26 September 2025, at 20:00 across all major digital platforms, including Spotify, Deezer, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube. The release marks a significant milestone in the young rapper’s journey as he continues to build his presence in the local and regional music scene.
Born Siboniso Fana Mamba in 2003 and raised in Sithobelweni, Fanson’s love for music started in school, rapping alongside his friend Mndeni Magagula using the “Tune Me” app. He went on to Mabensane High School where he met Blaq Spider, who helped shape his artistic identity. The stage name Fanson is a creative twist from his real name “Fana,” representing him as a “son.”
His music career took shape when he recorded his first track at Nkonjwa House Studio, later performing at Moneni Guest House. In 2023, he teamed up with Slow Boy, who introduced him to producer TN$ Savvy of WiseEagle Records, leading to the release of “Ungakhali.”
Produced by TN$ Savvy, “Abafuni Siphumelele” draws inspiration from Young Zesh’s “Sengibeketele” while paying homage to artists such as Intwanencane, Lyrical Busta, and Jay Spitter, whose success stories fuel Fanson’s determination.
Speaking about the message behind the track, Fanson said: “In our communities, many people don’t support us, they come with negative comments instead. This song is about silencing jealousy and negativity. It’s about pushing through and expressing life and love.”
Fans won’t have to wait long for visuals. The official “Abafuni Siphumelele” music video, directed by Visto Visuals, will premiere on 15 October 2025. It features cultural flair with Kubuta Might Tigers (Umbholoho) in traditional dress and a special appearance by Bless LePoet, host of Bars2Bars Cypher S4 and celebrated poet.
For now, listeners can stream the track here: https://youtu.be/8Ip1DkgqUmM.
With this release, Fanson has solidified his place as a new voice in Eswatini hip-hop, ready to take his sound from intimate stages to bigger platforms.
